BOUTIQUE Solicitors
Specialising in Employment Law for employees
About us
Abigail Daykin founded Abigail Daykin Solicitors in 2001, having qualified in 1992., after being made "redundant" herself, whilst on maternity leave with her first daughter. This inspired her to focus on supporting employees with their own employment disputes and to negotiate the best outcomes based on their individual circumstances.
We provide specialist advice to clients encountering a wide variety of issues at work, including support during grievances and disciplinary procedures, unfair dismissals, family leave rights, redundancies, negotiating Settlement Agreements and assisting with tribunal claims.
We like to work closely alongside our clients, focusing on suitable and achievable solutions with the aim of leaving them feeling empowered and more in control of their situation. It is important for clients to be given a voice during these often stressful and complex times.
Abigail Daykin Solicitors can offer face to face meetings if necessary, at a mutually convenient location.
Our Services
Abigail Daykin Solicitors are experts in employment law, possessing extensive experience and knowledge across all aspects of employment law.
We are here to advise you on your rights if you encounter issues at work, providing support during grievances and disciplinary procedures, unfair dismissals, family leave rights redundancies, negotiating settlement agreements and assisting with tribunal claims.
We offer a variety of fee structures, including hourly rates or fixed fees, all designed to meet your specific needs.
Where full representation is unnecessary or inappropriate, guidance and advice can be provided on a pro rata basis.

settlement agreements
These Agreements can be entered into with your employer to settle the claims. We can review and negotiate the terms of the Agreement and assess the level of compensation being offered.
grievances
Advice on using your employer's grievance procedure to raise a problem or complaint, with your preferred outcome in mind. Support provided throughout the grievance procedure.
disciplinary & performance issues
Despite these procedures being internal at this stage, it's never too early to take legal advice to ensure proper process is followed and to support you in achieving your desired outcome.
Senior executives
Our understanding of industry hierarchies enables us to support Senior Executives in negotiating specific employment issues such as bonuses, restrictive covenants and equity compensation, whilst preserving professional reputations.
redundancy
If you are facing redundancy, we can guide you through the entire process, from evaluating whether your situation qualifies as a genuine redundancy to ensuring proper process is adhered to. We also assist in negotiating and maximising the settlement and redundancy terms.
unfair dismissal
We can help establish whether your dismissal and the Employer's procedure in reaching the decision was unfair (certain situations qualify for automatic unfair dismissal) and negotiate the maximum settlement and fair terms for you, depending on your individual situation.
working parents
Working parents may face employment issues relating to maternity rights during pregnancy, returning to work after maternity leave, flexible and part time working, paternity leave and parental leave. These issues may result in a claim for unfair dismissal and the negotiation of a Settlement Agreement.
discrimination and harassment
Identifying whether the circumstances or actions you are experiencing fall within the prescribed categories of discrimination (direct or indirect): age; disability; gender reassignment; marriage or civil partnership; pregnancy and maternity; race (including colour, nationality, ethnic and national origin); religion or belief; or sex or sexual orientation.
